Football Preview: Bishop Amat at Crespi (Encino)

Bishop Amat’s football team hopes to win their second straight Mission League game tonight when they take on the Crespi Celts in Encino.

Last week, the Lancers defeated the Notre Dame Knights 17-14 after Shazel Sakr nailed a 29-yard field goal with 5 seconds left in the game.

Meanwhile, Crespi lost on a last-second field goal last week to Alemany. They are now 2-3 overall and 0-1 in league play.

Crespi clearly has a tough defense after they were able to hold Alemany to just 13 points a week after the Warriors put up 63 on Oaks Christian.

The Celts are led by running back Miles Anderson who rushed for 124 yards on 18 carries against Alemany.

This is an important game for the Lancers as they can’t afford to lose as they aim for their third-straight Mission League title. A loss would most likely knock them out of contention.

They are facing a desperate Crespi team that is still looking to get their first league win of the season.
