A comical world full of flesh-eating, mindless zombies? What’s not to love?
Zombieland, which was released a week ago, finds the perfect mixture of action and comedy.
The movie is filled with witty jokes, physical comedy, exciting action and hilarious moments. In addition, the cinematography enhances the whimsical horror atmosphere of the film.
Director Ruben Fleischer finds ways to make the action humorous as well as exciting, and, at times, scary.
The plot revolves around four main characters: Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), who end up working as a team to find a place where the zombie “infection” hasn’t spread.
They face many dilemmas and fight for their survival on their way to Los Angeles, including fighting off hordes of zombies, getting their car stolen twice and an eternal search for a Twinkie.
Columbus, a nerdy, antisocial 21 year old, who has never had a girlfriend, has a set of rules that he follows strictly and constantly to stay alive.
He goes through Zombieland trying to find a place to fit in.
These rules are really funny and pop up on screen.
The list goes down to about #33.
- Rule #1: Cardio – when the infection broke out, sadly, the first to go were the overweight and obese.
- Rule #2: Beware of bathrooms – zombies always like to get you when you are least ready, so it’s better just to hold on for a little longer.
- Rule #4: Buckle up – It’s a bumpy road out in Zombieland, so hold on tight and buckle up.
And these are just a few of them.
As Columbus travels across country on foot he runs into Tallahassee.
Tallahassee is a gun–toting redneck that loves nothing more than to put a zombie down.
The two of them join up and run into Wichita and Little Rock, two sisters looking for an amusement park on the West Coast. Columbus falls in love with Wichita, who was last seen in the 2007 hit, Superbad.
As dysfunctional as they are, they end up becoming friends and saving each other when things get rough.
It is one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a while and a great movie to see with friends.
