Lady Lancers softball thrashes CSH to open up league

Montebello – The Lady Lancers beat Cantwell-Sacred Heart 14-0 in five innings on Thursday after a 10-run explosion in the fifth inning.
The big hits in the Lady Lancers’ fifth inning came on a solo home run by Julia Menrad and a three-run double by Alyssa Barrera.
Menrad was perfect at the dish, going 4-4.
Junior Samaria Diaz kept Cantwell-Sacred Heart off the scoreboard for all five innings she was on the rubber. She pitched a shutout, allowing two hits while ringing up nine.
