LA PUENTE–Bishop Amat held its annual Club Week to start off the new school year in the Carrol Center on Monday.
Freshmen made their way into the Carrol Center during sixth period as the rest of the students stayed in the classrooms to withstand the heat.
The assembly started with a prayer and ASB officers introduced the club presidents and their clubs.
As each club was introduced, freshmen cheered louder every time.
Clubs that have been at Amat for years, like Barkada, to new clubs, like Toms, were set up with sign-up sheets and poster boards during lunch all week.
“I joined the Toms club because they help out and I like the shoes,” Freshmen Yasmine Vasquez said.
As there were so many clubs, students didn’t know which ones to choose from.
“It was hard to choose because there are so many,” Freshman Hannah Armienta said. “They had Modern Earth Club which I like.”
Some students took their chance as soon as they could, when lunch started and others stood off to the side not knowing which to sign up for.
“A good explanation of what the club is about and good enthusiasm from the people representing it,” Sophomore Isabel Espinoza said on what she looks for in a club.
Many club representatives were in front of the tables trying to get students to join their club.
