LA PUENTE—Bishop Amat held its Back-to-School Night on Thursday with parents that were eager to begin the night.
The bell rang and class began, the parents are seated, prepared to listen. Some of the teachers provided a syllabus for the parents to review. The teachers then explained what their expectations are of the students and the objective of the course.
Some parents were concerned to meet their children’s teachers on a more personal level.
“I loved meeting my children’s teachers face to face, putting a face to the name and getting to know them,” said Juanita Capraro, mother of sophomore Brittany Capraro and senior Alex Capraro.
Back-to-School Night revealed the activity of the parents’ children, to the parents.
“I feel that it helps us parents understand what our kids go through while we are not there,” said Cindy Perez, mother of senior Cindy Perez.
The teachers demonstrated and explained the Parent Portal to the parents on the night, giving them access to the parents’ children activity in school.
“The student portal is very helpful because I can review the assignments and grades of my daughter,” said Mr. Richard Alvarado, father of freshman Sarah Alvarado.
