Junior Victoria Esquer will be forced to find a balance between school activities, homework, and friends this Spring Break.
Among her tasks are practices for the spring musical will continue throughout break, she received a massive IB Biology spring break project and still needs to make time for her friends.
“I can’t spend my entire spring break just hanging out with friends even though I want to,” Esquer said.
However, most Lancers will not have to deal with so many activities this coming week as they are released spring break today.
Students are taking advantage of this week away from school various different ways, whether to catch up on mounting amounts of homework, tour college campuses, or to simply just relax and have some fun without the stress from school.
“I really needed this break. I needed time without school so I can catch up on my homework from this art class I take in USC,” said senior Pascal Guevara. “Also, I have my art show coming up for IB and I really needed this time to make sure all my masterpieces are done.”
Similarly, students that are used to filled schedules will have time to do many things that they could not during their competition seasons.
“Yeah I am looking forward to Spring Break because it means that I will finally have time to do all my late work, plus now that dance competition season is over, I can finally just relax,” said Senior Chika Anidi. “I am actually now able to make plans with friends without worrying about whether or not I have practice, and that happening before Spring Break is amazing because it means I can actually enjoy it.”
However, many Lancers plan to simply take this time off school as was it is—a break.
“I just plan to spend time with friends and going out a lot. Not having to worry about whether it’s a school day or not,” said junior Vanessa Aragon. “Also, I am going to use this time to see friends I usually don’t see often because we go to different schools. A lot of them have the same days off I do.”
Also, some students look forward to much some much needed time to recover from school and spend time.
“My Spring Break will consist of spending time with friend and family, and sleeping. A lot of sleeping,” said sophomore Cameran Wall.
