Following a not so perfect 42-20 win over the Venice Gondoliers last Friday night, the Bishop Amat Lancers look to continue their undefeated record against the Crespi Celts in their first Serra League game tonight at 7 p.m. at Kiefer Stadium.
The story of the season for the Lancers has been their tough defense whereas the Celt’s game has come from their passing offense led by senior quarterback Kenneth Stenhouse.
The Celts last game resulted in both a victory over the Taft Toreadors and a record breaking performance by Stenhouse when he threw for 484 yards and five touchdowns.
This is the first league game and real test for both teams this season.
The Lancers offense will continue to look to junior running backs Jalen Moore and Zachary Shay, look to continue their dominance starting league. While the Lancers defense looks to be led by senior and junior defensive backs Nick Casarez and Ajee Montes who have each intercepted quarterbacks twice this season.
The Celts will be led by Stenhouse, who is averaging about 300-yards passing a game and looks to continue his success in the air against the Lancers.
Once again, the Lancers will be without senior defensive back Martin Sandoval, who is is out with a torn bicep.
