Bishop Amat clinches their second consecutive Mission League title

Senior Damien Moore is starting to run with the football.

The Lancers took home another league title Friday night at Kiefer Stadium after beating Notre Dame 35-21 with four touchdowns from star running back Damien Moore.

Moore was living up to his MVP status as he rushed for 165 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught a 30-yard pass from Tobin O’Dell for a touchdown. This is his fourth game of the season with three or more touchdowns in one game.

Tobin O’Dell played another great game as he threw for 92 yards and a touchdown.

Micah Hidalgo made an impact on special teams as he took a kickoff return for 83 yards.

For Notre Dame, quarterback Zachary Siskowic threw for 282 yards and two touchdowns. The Knights drop to 6-3 and 2-2 in league and will be guaranteed a spot in the Division II playoff bracket.

As for the Lancers, they are ranked eighth for the Division I playoffs and will most likely run into Mater Dei in the first round. Next week Bishop Amat will host their final game of the season against Loyola (3-5),(1-2) that will determine their seeding in the bracket.
