The wait is finally over. Breaking Dawn Part 1, the first part of the fourth and final installment in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga premieres Thursday night.
For many students, this is a day that they have been waiting for since the third movie was released in last June.
“I’ve literally been counting down the days until it comes out,” senior Annelissa Cuenca said. “I’m going to see it this Friday and I haven’t been able to contain my excitement!”
Cuenca is one of many Lancers who plan to see the movie on the day of its release.
“I’ve had tickets to the midnight premiere for a while now,” said junior Erin MacDonald. “My friends and I are all going together and we can’t wait to see it.”
The story revolves around Bella Swan, who falls in love with vampire Edward Cullen. Throughout the story, there are many conflicts with rival werewolves, other vampires, and the head vampire clan, the Volturi.
Breaking Dawn Part. 1 continues the love story with the celebration of Bella and Edwards’ wedding and Bella’s pregnancy.
The saga is extremely loved by teenagers and mothers all around the world.
Despite mediocre reviews for the previous three movies, “Twi-hards” are looking forward to this movie with an optimistic attitude while preparing for it’s arrival.
“I’ve been re-reading all the books to refresh my memory about the story since I read them so long ago,” said senior Danielle Contreras.
Senior Carley Valadez is taking a somewhat similar approach.
“I’ve been watching a different Twilight movie everyday to get ready for the premiere of Breaking Dawn,” said Valadez. “It’s something I did when the last Harry Potter movie came out, so I decided to do it for Twilight.”
Other students like senior Evan Gomez have different reasons for going to see the movie.
“I’m just going because I want to see Taylor Lautner’s abs,” said Gomez. “A lot of girls say that they were amazing, so I want to see what all the hype was about.”
However, the only thing fans want is that the movie stays as close as possible to the book.
“I just hope they stay true to the book,” said Contreras. “The first three movies were okay, but were very vague compared to the book. With Breaking Dawn, so many little things happen that are important, so I hope they didn’t cut them out.”
