Sony announced the upcoming release of the Playstation 4 last week in an announcement broadcast on Ustream.
Although Sony announced the system, they did not unveil the machine itself. Sony showed off the controller’s new features—better analogue sticks, a more responsive trigger system, and a touch pad on the controller.
“I am happy that Sony is fixing the controllers because the trigger system is really sensitive,” junior Luc Maynor said.
Sony also announced some new games for the PS4, including additions to award winning series, such as “Killzone: Shadow Fall,” “Infamous: Second Son” and “Final Fantasy.”
Other big games that were only available on the PC will now be available for the PS4 such as “Diablo III.”
“I can’t wait for the new system comes out because I’m a big Playstation fan and a ‘Final Fantasy’ fan,” junior Adrian Thach said.
But most fans expressed disappointment that Sony did not show the new system, even though they provided a lot of spoilers.
Even though there was talk about not being able to play used games on the system, Sony denied the charge. Used games can be played on the PS4.
“I was excited to see the PS4, but I was disappointed that they didn’t show it off,” senior Andrew Apodaca said. “But I’m happy at least we will still be able to play used games.”
