The first time Cynthia Gonzales, a freshman at Bishop Amat High School, bit into an In-N-Out double-double cheeseburger, she said she immediately knew what heaven would taste like if it were a food product.
“There’s a perfect ration of all the condiments and the amazing cheese melts in your mouth,” she said. “It’s like biting into heaven.”
But is In-N-Out the best area burger? Most students say yes.
Maria Alfaro, a junior, also likes In-N-Out’s double-double cheeseburger.
“The best burger is In-N-Out’s double-double cheeseburger because of its heavenly melted cheese and combo with bread buns and meat,” Alfaro said .
The In-N-Out cheeseburger is also a favorite for freshman Peyton Austin, sophomore Sabrina Galvan, junior Natalia Estrada and senior Cristina Lopez.
“The cheeseburger from In-N-Out is the best because it’s just heaven,” said junior Natalia Estrada.
Lopez said that she goes to In-N-Out almost every week.
“I go to In-N-Out almost every week and I always get the cheeseburger,” she said. “With it I either get iced tea or lemonade because cheeseburgers and lemonade go so great together and I just love iced tea.”
Although many favorited burgers come from In-N-Out, In-N-Out burgers are not the only type of burgers that students characterized as the best.
Another favorite place to get burgers is at the restaurant Red Robin.
Seniors Derick Velasco and Ryan Serrano both agree that the Royal Red Robin Burger at Red Robin is the best burger. The Royal Red Robin Burger is a combination of bacon, eggs, and cheese all inside a fresh bun.
“The Royal Burger at Red Robin is like the breakfast and lunch in one delicious burger,” Serrano said.
Oliver Flores, a senior, also likes a burger that comes from Red Robin.
“I like the avocado and bacon burger from Red Robin,” Flores said .
Besides In-N-Out and Red Robin, Bishop Amat students and faculty enjoy their burgers from other places.
Mathematics teacher, Mr. Christopher Fragoso thinks that the Pasadena restaurant Dog Haus makes the best burger.
“The Holy Aioli at the Dog Haus is the best burger,” Mr. Fragoso said. “The bun is made from hawaiian bread plus they add garlic aioli sauce.”
Senior Lauren Higa said that the best burger either comes from Slater’s 50/50 in Anaheim Hills or Jake’s Burgers in Pasadena.
“If I were to get a burger, I’d either go to Slater’s 50/50 in Anaheim Hills or Jake’s in Pasadena,” she said. “Slater’s makes half bacon half beef burgers, but Jake’s Burgers is just as great.”
Economics teacher Mr. Ealar Gallagher thinks that the best burger comes from Islands Restaurant.
“I like the Hula Burger at Islands. It’s like a cheeseburger with swiss cheese and sauteed mushrooms. I like the sauteed mushrooms the best,” Mr. Gallagher said . “I like it because it comes with fries and the fries are made out of real potatoes.”
