Mitchell Adam Lucker, lead vocalist of Suicide Silence, died early last Thursday morning after being in an alcohol related motorcycle crash on Halloween night near his home in Huntington Beach.
Lucker grew up in Riverside, California and suffered from anxiety as a young child. During his teens, he found the courage to overcome his problems though music and became extremely passionate about it. In 2002, he and his friends formed a deathcore band called Suicide Silence. Although they aren’t given radio play, Suicide Silence has become one of the most popular and successful deathcore bands over the years, headlining their own tours and music festivals such as the Vans Warped Tour and Bamboozle.
Only a day after, family, friends, and fans of Mitch and the band gathered at the scene of his accident to mourn his death and reminisce on the inspiration he left behind. Even fans of other bands expressed their sorrow via internet, commenting “Life is unfair. That guy was a real inspiration. A role model. Millions of people are missing him because he was a great artist and a better person. He will forever live on in our hearts. I’m devastated.”
Rest in Peace
Mitchell Adam Lucker
