Lady Lancers at La Salle Lancers – March 30
Pasadena — Bishop Amat Lancers softball team defeated the La Salle High School Lancers, 9-0, this Wednesday winning their second league game of the season and dropping La Salle to zero wins and four Del Rey League losses.
Bishop Amat, playing in only its second league game because of several game cancellations due to rain, struck early by scoring one run in both the first and second innings and then erupted for four runs in the third.
Senior pitcher Natalie Sanchez was put on the mound to control the defensive side of things. She allowed only six hits to La Salle, and she was able to keep them off balance throughout.
While Sanchez controlled the game, the offense continued to score.
Amat put across another three runs, two in the fifth inning and one in the seventh inning. Amat had a total of 15 hits against La Salle pitcher sophomore Rachel Albright.
The Lady Lancers travel to Torrance to face the Bishop Montgomery Knights on Thursday.
