MISSION HILLS- Junior running back Jalen Moore scored four touchdowns but was not enough as the Bishop Amat Lancers (9-1) fell to the Alemany Warriors (10-0), 38-30.
The Warriors got on the board first scoring a touchdown off a Lancer fumble. The Lancers responded with a 13-yard touchdown by Moore making the score 7-7.
Senior defensive end Julian Gener sacked the quarterback in the end zone for a safety, giving the Lancers a 9-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter the Warriors came back with a 14-yard pass by senior quarterback Vernon Adams.
Moore then rushed for his second touchdown from 1 yard out and were successful in a 2-point conversion.
The Lancers defense was sloppy before the end of the half allowing the Warriors to score twice in about a minute leaving the score 28-17 at halftime.
The Warriors’ momentum continued through the half as Adams scrambled for 14-yard touchdown extending their lead to 35-17.
The Lancers answered back following a long kickoff return and 7-yard touchdown run by Moore.
The Warriors then made a 42-yard field goal making the score 38-24 at the end of the third.
Moore rushed for his fourth touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter but it was not enough as the Warriors were able to hold off the Lancers for the remainder of the game.
The Lancers finish the regular season with a 9-1 record and hope to recover in their first CIF playoff game next week against the Tesoro Titans at Kiefer Stadium.
