Senior Tatiana Delgadillo plans on dressing as Katy Perry this year. But she has a problem: who sells a Katy Perry costume that is cute and affordable?
“It’d be more logical to buy things that she [Katy Perry] would actually wear,” she said. “Most of the time store costumes are ugly, and you never wear them again.”
Delgadillo isn’t the only one with this problem. Senior Jacob Caropino plans to dress as a monkey for Halloween.
“It is impossible to find a monkey costume that is both comfortable and affordable,” Caropino said. “I decided to turn my grandma for help this year.”
As most individuals at Amat continuously create unique ideas for Halloween costumes, students have also decided to save money and create costumes with their own clothes. Places like Party City carry general costumes, and to many students these costumes there are considered “rip-offs.” This causes students like Delgadillo and Caropino to think creatively.
