MISSION HILLS- The Lancers began league play against the warriors of Bishop Alemany Friday night, but were outplayed, 56-35, in a shootout.
Dionza Blue and Darren Andrews led the Lancer offense with two rushing touchdowns each. Sal Velasquez also caught a touchdown pass from Koa Haynes.
The Lancers gave up a season-high 56 points to the high-powered Alemany offense. The only bright spot of the Lancer defense was with the interception from sophomore Christian Wiley.
Questionable penalties would stifle Bishop Amat and would prove to play a huge part in the outcome of the game.
Bishop Amat falls to 5-1-1 on the season and 0-1 in league play. The Lancers return home to try and improve their record against a 7-1 Crepi team.
